Heard about AI, not sure where to start?

These terms apply to anyone who buys a service from myQS AI ("we", "us"). By booking a demo, paying for The Setup, or subscribing to the Skill Library, you ("you", "the client") agree to them.

myQS AI is currently operated by James Ball, trading as myQS AI, 43 Byron Road, Addlestone, KT15 2SJ. myQS AI is not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is added to prices shown.

1. Who these terms are for

myQS AI sells to businesses and self-employed people (subcontractors, tradespeople and similar) buying for their trade, not to the general public buying for personal use. That matters legally: most of the automatic consumer protections in the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (e.g. the 14-day statutory cooling-off period) are built for individual consumers and don't automatically apply to a business-to-business purchase like this. These terms are the contract instead.

If you're buying wholly or mainly for personal rather than trade purposes, tell us before you pay — different rules may apply to you and we'll handle it separately.

2. What we sell

Free demo — a 20-minute, no-obligation session, usually run on a real enquiry or quote of yours. No contract is formed by booking or attending a demo.

The Setup — a one-off, on-site session (currently £1,000, no VAT as myQS AI isn't VAT registered) covering AI setup and training for your business, including printed guides and 30 days of WhatsApp support afterwards. Invoiced manually on completion; payment is due within 7 days of the invoice date. If you need to cancel or reschedule a booked Setup day, give us at least 7 days' notice and there's no charge. Cancelling or rescheduling with less than 7 days' notice (including a no-show) is chargeable at 50% of the Setup fee.

Skill Library — a rolling monthly subscription (currently £129/month, billed via Stripe) giving access to a growing library of downloadable Claude Skills (packaged files you install into your own Claude account) plus ongoing WhatsApp support. What's in the library changes over time as new skills are added; we don't guarantee a fixed number or set of skills at any given time.

3. Payment and cancellation

Skill Library: billed monthly in advance via Stripe from the date you subscribe. It renews automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time; cancelling stops future billing but doesn't refund the current paid month — you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for.

The Setup: invoiced on completion; payment is due within 7 days of the invoice date. Cancelling or rescheduling a booked day with 7 or more days' notice is free; less than 7 days' notice (including a no-show) is chargeable at 50% of the Setup fee.

We reserve the right to suspend access to the Skill Library if a payment fails and isn't resolved within 7 days.

4. What the tools do and don't do

This is important, so it's stated plainly rather than buried in small print:

• myQS AI provides tools and training only — not professional quantity surveying, pricing, or contractual advice. We don't carry professional indemnity insurance for advisory work, because we're not providing advice.
• Any AI tool or skill we provide never invents or silently changes a price — you check everything before it's relied on.
• Drawing tools may measure, count or take off quantities from drawings, but we don't recommend relying on AI-measured quantities — they're not yet accurate or consistent enough. Every such figure is provisional and must be checked against the drawing by you before it's priced, ordered or otherwise relied on. Anything at that level of reliance needs a qualified person, not this.
• Outputs from any skill (summaries, digests, draft quotes, flagged risks) are a starting point for your own review, not a finished, reliable-without-checking answer. Where a source document matters, always check it yourself.
• Any skill that reviews, checks, or flags something for you works on a best-efforts basis, using the documents and rules it's given at the time. It can miss things, including things a specialist would have caught. It's an extra pair of eyes, not a substitute for your own judgement, and not a substitute for a solicitor, insurer, or other qualified professional on anything that could seriously affect you if missed. You use flagging and review skills at your own risk, and you remain responsible for your own decisions about the contracts and documents you sign.

5. Your data

Skills you download run inside your own Claude/AI account, using your own documents. myQS AI doesn't hold, store, or have access to your client data, job files, or tender documents — they never leave your own account. The only personal data myQS AI itself holds about you is what's needed to run the business relationship: your name, contact details, and payment/subscription records (held by Stripe on our behalf for payment processing).

6. Intellectual property

myQS AI retains ownership of the skill files, templates, guides, website and other materials we provide. Subscribing to the Skill Library gives you a licence to use the skills you download for your own business — not to resell, redistribute, sublicense, or share them outside your own business.

You keep all rights to your own source material (your tenders, quotes, job data) and to anything a skill generates for you from it while working inside your own account.

7. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where the law doesn't allow it to be excluded or limited (for example, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

Subject to that, myQS AI's total liability to you arising out of or in connection with these terms — however it arises — is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit, loss of contracts, or loss of business opportunity.

In particular, myQS AI is not liable for any loss arising because a skill or tool failed to identify, flag, or catch something it's designed to help with — including but not limited to risky contract terms, pricing errors, missed items, or quantity discrepancies. Review and flagging skills assist your own checking process; they don't replace it, and they don't replace independent professional advice. This reflects the basis on which these tools are provided (see section 4) and the fact that myQS AI does not carry professional indemnity insurance for advisory work.

8. Term and termination

These terms apply for as long as you have an active Setup engagement or Skill Library subscription with us. Either party can end a Skill Library subscription at any time as set out in section 3. We can suspend or end access if these terms are breached, or if payment isn't made when due.

9. Force majeure

Neither party is liable for a failure or delay caused by something reasonably outside their control (illness, IT/platform outages including third-party services like Stripe or Anthropic/Claude, and similar).

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time — for example as the Skill Library grows or the business structure changes (e.g. if myQS AI incorporates as a limited company). We'll give existing subscribers reasonable notice of any material change before it takes effect.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

This explains what personal data myQS AI collects, why, how it's used, and what rights you have over it. It applies to visitors to this website, demo bookings, Setup clients, and Skill Library subscribers.

1. What we collect

We only collect what's needed to run the business relationship with you:

• Contact details — name, email address, and phone/WhatsApp number, given when you book a demo, buy The Setup, or subscribe to the Skill Library.
• Payment and subscription records — held by Stripe on our behalf when you subscribe to the Skill Library or pay a Setup invoice. We don't see or store your card details ourselves; Stripe handles that.
• Support messages — anything you send us over WhatsApp or email while getting support, kept as part of our normal message history.
• Website access token — if you're a Skill Library subscriber, once you verify your email the site stores a short-lived access token and your email address in your own browser's local storage, so you don't have to re-enter your email every visit. This stays on your device — it isn't sent anywhere except back to us to confirm you're a subscriber, and it expires automatically after 30 days.

We don't use cookies, analytics, or tracking scripts on this website.

2. What we don't collect

myQS AI doesn't hold, store, or have access to your business or client data. The Claude Skills you download run inside your own Claude/AI account, working on your own documents — tenders, quotes, drawings, job files. None of that ever reaches myQS AI. We have no server or database holding your work.

3. Why we use it, and the legal basis

• Running the contract with you — booking a demo, delivering The Setup, providing Skill Library access, invoicing, and giving support. Legal basis: performance of a contract (or steps towards one, for a demo booking).
• Payment processing — via Stripe, for Skill Library subscriptions and Setup invoices. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
• Responding to support requests — over WhatsApp or email. Legal basis: performance of a contract / legitimate interest in supporting our clients.
• Keeping in touch about the service — e.g. telling existing Skill Library subscribers about a material change to these terms, or a new skill being added. Legal basis: legitimate interest, kept relevant and infrequent. We don't send marketing emails you haven't asked for.

4. Who we share it with

• Stripe — processes payments and holds your payment/subscription records. See Stripe's own privacy policy for how they handle your data.
• Netlify — hosts this website and its functions; ordinary web server logs (like IP address and request time) pass through their infrastructure as with any website.
• WhatsApp/Meta — if you contact us over WhatsApp, that conversation is subject to WhatsApp's own privacy policy as well as this one.

We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone else for their own marketing purposes.

5. International transfers

Some of the services above (Stripe, WhatsApp/Meta) may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, they do so under their own standard safeguards (such as the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum or equivalent). We don't otherwise transfer your data outside the UK ourselves.

6. How long we keep it

• Contact and support records: for as long as you're an active client, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you get back in touch or for our own accounting/tax records.
• Payment and invoicing records: as long as required by UK tax law (currently at least 6 years).
• The website access token described in section 1: automatically expires after 30 days and is stored only on your own device.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you can ask us to:

• tell you what personal data we hold about you;
• correct anything that's wrong;
• delete your data, where we're not required to keep it (e.g. for tax records);
• restrict or object to how we use it;
• give you a copy in a portable format.

To exercise any of these, email james@myqs.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you think we've got something wrong, though we'd appreciate the chance to sort it out directly first.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to keep your data secure — payment data is handled entirely by Stripe rather than us, and access to our own systems (email, Netlify, Stripe dashboard) is protected by account-level security. No system is completely risk-free, but we don't hold anything beyond the contact and payment records described above.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we start using a new tool or service. We'll update the date at the top when we do, and tell existing Skill Library subscribers if a change is material.
