Getting you started with AI

Heard about AI, not sure where to start?

Most trade businesses are in the same position: they know AI could help, but which one to use, connecting it to your files and setting it up for your work feels like someone else's world. That first step is exactly what myQS AI does — practical AI tools and training, set up on your own devices, around how you already work, explained in plain English. AI can turn its hand to almost anything in the office: quotes, tenders, variations, invoicing, the lot.

What it can do

One assistant. Most of your office.

AI isn't a handful of tools — it's a capable assistant that can be taught almost any task you do at a desk. We set it up, connect it to your project information, and shape it around whatever your week actually looks like. Some of the places it earns its keep:

Pricing & tenders

Before you commit

Reads the whole enquiry — every drawing, schedule and email — and flags what needs checking before a price goes on it.

Quotes & paperwork

Out the door properly

Quotations, letters and applications produced on your letterhead, in your words, from whatever you'd normally scribble down.

Cashflow

Money in on time

Invoices raised, variations written up the day they happen, and late payers chased on a schedule without you having to remember.

Site records

A paper trail that holds

A voice note becomes a dated site diary; what was agreed on calls and in meetings, written up while it's fresh.

Compliance

The box-ticking

RAMS, waste paperwork and O&M packs drafted to your templates for you to check — not built from scratch at 10pm.

Your bugbear

The job you're sick of

Whatever you do the same way every week is usually the best skill of all. Bring it to the setup day and we'll build it.

The point

The work is yours. The paperwork needn't be.

Most subcontractors are also the estimator, the admin department and the credit controller — usually in the evening, after a full day on site. That is the part AI is genuinely good at. Nothing changes about how you work; the paperwork simply takes less of your time and loses you less money.

How it works

Set up in one visit, explained in plain English.

If you can send a WhatsApp, you can use this. Not sure yet? We’re happy to run a free, no-obligation demo first — twenty minutes on a real enquiry or an old quote of yours, no sales pitch. The setup itself is done for you, the training happens wherever suits you, and the tools work with the files you already produce.

Setup day

A full day at your office — set up on your own devices, your business understood, your data connected safely, real skills talked through with examples, your branding applied, and an hour of hands-on training before we leave.

Skill Library

Thirty days of WhatsApp support included afterwards — send the question or the screenshot, get a straight answer. After that, optional ongoing support through the Skill Library: new skills added all the time, rate updates, tweaks, and a person on the other end, not a chatbot.

The setup day

What a day with us looks like

  1. Get you on the right AI, properly

Software installed on your own devices — laptop, desktop, phone — with honest advice on which subscription actually suits your business, in your name, paid by you. No reselling, no markup.

  2. Work out where AI fits your business

We sit down and go through how you actually run — enquiries in, quotes out, jobs on site, invoices chased — and pick the places AI will genuinely save you time, rather than bolting it on for the sake of it.

  3. Connect it to your project information

We link the AI to your existing folders and files, and set up a dedicated project for each live job — so it answers from your drawings, quotes and emails, not from thin air.

  4. Show you how to build your own skills

A skill is a task you've taught the AI to do your way, every time. We build one together for something you do every week — after that, you can make your own whenever you spot the next one.

  5. Run it on one of your real jobs

We finish by putting a live enquiry or an old quote through the skills we've set up — tender checking, quote production, variation write-ups, whichever fit your business — so you leave having seen it work on your own paperwork, not an example.

Pricing

Straightforward pricing.

One missed item caught at tender would cover the setup cost several times over. No contracts with small print. The AI subscription itself (about £18/month) is paid by you, directly to the AI company — it's your account and it stays yours either way.

The rules we set up with

Your measure stays yours

AI can measure and take off drawings, but it isn't yet accurate or consistent enough for us to recommend relying on it — one slipped quantity can cost you a lot of money, so the measure stays with you. It applies your rates, builds the bill, does the arithmetic and drafts the documents. Everything is checked by you before it goes anywhere.

Your account, your data

Everything runs on an AI subscription in your name. Your quotes and rates live in your account — not on our servers, because we don't have any.

Tools, not opinions

We set up the tools and teach you to run them. Pricing decisions, and the jobs you take, stay exactly where they belong — with you.

FAQ

Common questions

I'm not techy. Honestly, will I manage?

If you can use WhatsApp, yes. The setup is done for you, the training is on your own real paperwork, and the guides are written in plain English with screenshots. Most people are running Quote Builder on their own within the first hour.

Will AI measure and price my jobs?

It can measure and take quantities off drawings, and it's often right — but it isn't yet accurate or consistent enough for us to recommend relying on it, and one slipped quantity can cost a lot of money. It's improving all the time, but for now we'd still get the measure done manually and treat anything AI measures as a figure to check, not a figure to price. Once you've got your quantities, though, it's excellent at applying your rates, building the priced bill or schedule, doing the arithmetic without slips, and presenting it properly. You check everything before it goes out.

What happens to my rates and quotes? Who sees them?

They live in your own AI account, in your name, that you control. myQS AI doesn't store your data — there's no myQS server, no myQS database. We set up your account; the account is yours.

What does it cost to run after setup?

The AI subscription, around £18 a month, paid by you directly to the AI provider. The optional £129/month Skill Library subscription — which also includes the members' WhatsApp group and rate/template updates — is the only thing you'd ever pay us ongoing, and you can cancel it whenever you like.

Will it actually read the whole tender pack properly?

That's what it's best at. It doesn't skim, doesn't get tired at 9pm, and reads the last page as carefully as the first — pulling out the job, the scope, the key dates and the commercial terms into one summary, plus anything worth double-checking before you price it. It's a second pair of eyes, not a guarantee, which is also why the demo uses your real documents: judge it on your own job.

What if it goes wrong or I get stuck?

Send it over on WhatsApp — the question, or just a screenshot — and we'll sort it. Thirty days of support is included with every setup; the Skill Library subscription keeps it going after that if you want it. No ticket systems, and a person on the other end.

See it on one of your own jobs.

The demonstration is free, takes twenty minutes, and runs on your actual documents — the only fair way to judge it.
